We™™ve had our refrigerator almost 4 weeks and we really like it. It™™s a nice looking refrigerator. The LED lighting really brightens things up and I can find what I™™m looking for. It™™s a trade off to have the ice maker in the freezer but I wanted more space in the refrigerated section. I™™m getting used to having to open both doors in order to open the fruit and veggie drawers.

My last refrigerator was an Electrolux french door refrigerator with ice maker and water in the door. I had it for 10 years and was pleased. When we started to have issues with the old refrigerator, I wanted to go back with the same brand because we didn't have any problems and because the handles would match all of other Electrolux appliance (all of our kitchen appliances are Electrolux). Unfortunately this refrigerator makes a high pitched buzzing noise and it is VERY noticeable and annoying. I always sit in our keeping room right off the kitchen in the mornings to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee before everyone wakes up for the day and I have had to move to a new spot in the house because I just can't stand the sound. And it isn't just when I'm alone. I can still hear it even with the entire family up and about/making meals/doing homework/playing. We have had the repair person come out to take a look (hoping that something could be adjusted) and he said that they make this noise now because of a new compressor to cool the refrigerator more quickly. The drawers for the freezer and refrigerator do not seem to slide as easily as my older model and seem more flimsy/not made as well. I don't like negative reviews and have clearly been pleased with my Electrolux appliances in the past, but when spending about $3000 for a new refrigerator, I really have to say that I'm disappointed in this purchase. I have reached out to our local vendor to see if there is any recourse because I am not happy with the appliance noise. The drawers are not a deal breaker.To add a positive thought: This is a beautiful refrigerator and there is plenty of storage space.

We are really pleased with this refrigerator. I always wanted to find a refrigerator that would be wider but more shallow than the standard fridge, with deep door storage. And here it is. Those features really decrease the chance that some food will languish at the back of the shelves, out of sight and out of mind. The LED lighting is also really helpful. God design.

We've had ours about a month or less. No problems but as in other reviews the designer/engineers still can't figure out how to redesign the icemaker so that the bottom of the fridge doesn't become a giant ice tray of spilled cubes. Also in reviews and quite accurate, anything at the back of the fridge will freeze. Played with the temp but we still have frozen jello moulds, jams, eggs etc. And after all this time of stainless finishes they managed to use a s.steel finish which is worse than my old 14 yr old s.s. fridge! Fingerprint torture! Don't get me started on trying to remove the ridiculous shipping plastic. That sucker will still be there when this fridge goes to the appliance after life.

We are replacing our Electrolux side-by-side that we bought in 2012. That one had not had a working ice or water dispenser for several years. We were told by many service workers over the years to avoid door water dispences, hence this choice. The fridge is beautiful to look at. A few glitches: 1) The shelf hardware was not machined correctly in the factory so in some configurations they look slightly wopper-jaw. 2) One of the fridge bins came with a red circular sticker and a hand-drawn square made in silver sharpie marker around a dent. I called Electorlux and the seller and no one can explain this. Obviously, it's some kind of quality control incident and it's just weird that it was there. NBD, but not confidence-inspiring. 3) Fridge took about 36 hours after delivery to cool completely (before that we were a bit worried). 4) Now it freezes stuff near the back, even when temp is set lower than default.. Our other Electrolux also did that. Beware frozen lettuce. 5) I love having an icemaker again, and this one is big and in a great location... but the design is such that when it's full and you open the freezer several cubes inevitabbly tumble to the floor. None of these complaints are dealbreakers. We've had it several weeks. I'd like to check in again after a year.

It was a major improvement over the previous refrigerator that I had owned.I am so pleased with my Electrolux purchase! It is so well made and very sturdy without being ™heavy™ or ™bulky™, which facilitates easy opening of the French Doors and the freezer, even when they are packed with food items. This is our second Electrolux fridge (the first was in a previous home) and the quality sure dropped between the two purchases. The freezer and fridge trim has cracked and broken off in numerous places for no apparent reason, making it look decrepit and it's just not the same quality that I'd experienced and expected. I will not buy another one of these and strongly caution potential purchasers to be sure the current model has improved (ours was bought in early 2016).

Stopped working

6 years old. Stopped working for no reason. Power panel says 'OFF'. Power button when pressed does not do a thing. Tried turning off power completely at the breaker. Nothing. It turned itself back on and off several times. Customer support asked me to do the same things I tried to do. Recommended service call. I have been down this road before. Cost of the service call, plus probable panel, plus other delays are about a third of the cost of a new refrigerator. Have ordered replacement. Not from Electrolux.

We bought the whole Electrolux package as part of our kitchen reno. The refrigerator has been the worst of the lot. As with other reviews our ice maker did not work. The plastic trim around the freezer door chipped and snapped off within no time. Both gaskets around the upper doors have cracked leading to mold issues and "sweating" both inside and out. To replace the gaskets it runs around $100 per door, just for a piece of weather stripping. To the best of my research the freezer door trim cannot be replaced. As stated, do not buy, steer clear and find something else.

Recurring problems, bad and rare local service

Nice fridge for sure but we have had problems like many reviewers with ice maker. Then recurring problems with high temp. Service came several times with same "solution" which is to defrost the freezer and then restart.. This is not looking at the cause just fixing the result. Every month or so it occurs again, I know how to do it myself now. I cannot find anyone where we live (SF Bay Area) who could properly diagnose and repair the root cause issue....

I read that this was a frequent problem and repair would be very costly so we just use plastic ice trays now. Very disappointed.

Owned the unit for about a month now. It's very nice! It's a counter depth refrigerator but inside you will never know it. There are a few things that prevented a 5 star review. First, the water valve for the ice maker is VERY loud when it shuts off. Second, if you want to access any of the 3 drawers you have to open both doors. Finally, the exterior has a few small grey plastic trim pieces/corners and they are very fragile and chip/break easily. This all seems very minor only because I got an unbelievable deal on the price. If I would have paid full msrp I would be much more unhappy.

We have had this refrigerator for a couple of months and it's performing great. Our current unit replaced this same French door model, but with ice and water in the door, which had several issues with the ice maker. There's not a make or model in the market today that does not have issues with the ice maker on their French door designs. Bottom line is, ice should not be made in the refrigerator, in an environment that is below freezing. Ice should only be made in the freezer drawer of a French door design refrigerator or in the freezer section of a side-by-side. The previous unit was 6 years old and never had a single issue with anything other than the ice maker. Of course, this new unit has the ice in the freezer drawer and is doing great.

Bought Electrolux again only because it matched the other existing Electrolux appliances already in my kitchen. The original Electrolux refrigerator died after only 5 years - a short and a troubled life. The new one works well enough (it's new) so far but we note several things. The open-door and power failure alarm is a great feature which we came to appreciate on the first one. The new unit has it too, but the volume is too low to hear the alram unless you are standing right by the fridge with no other background sounds. Darned near worthless, and can't be turned up or down. We listened to the demo unit in the store - same story, so it's a design issue. After endless trouble with the ice/water in the door on the last one, we went ice-only in the freezer section. It works well enough, but is somewhat noisy. As other reviewers have said, it sometimes dispenses ice onto the floor if the bucket has gotten full. After trying various things, I simply turn the ice maker off when it gets full, and back on again when it gets low. Not too bad, and the ice gets used up instead of getting to be that frozen clump in the bottom of the bucket, so I don't really mind doing it. Fit and finish of the unit are good, and the interior lighting is very nice. If I knew this unit would last, I would rate it a bit higher, but the last one was all style and not much function. The fridge itself is very quiet, which is nice, and the doors work much better than the last one, so I'll end on the positives. I'd also note that other makers all have problems, too. Whatever happened to refrigerators which lasted 15 years? The Electrolux is expensive - I rate it low based on life and value for money spent, but the competitors aren't much better - just less expensive.

I purchased this house as part of a new home build 4 years ago. As written by another reviewer, the plastic along the top of the freezer drawer has full chipped off and has left sharp edges. The IQ touch controls never worked well and do not work at all now. There is also mold growing on the rubber strips of the refrigerator doors that we cannot seem to keep clean. That rubber has fallen off in strips.

The worst purchase in my kitchen. Everything is made of plastic. The 'Fresh Zone' drawers and shelf all cracked within 2 years. The Freezer door trim cracked all the way along the length of the door. Can't replace just the trim. Need to buy a whole new freezer door for $200+. Replaced the ice maker after 3 years. Not worth the $3,500 we paid.

The ice maker stopped working just after the warranty expired. I called the company and they said I needed to change my filters more often, so I ordered new filters and changed them every four months (expensive to do). No ice still.

Incredible capacity for a counter depth fridge. Lots of shelving and some tucked away for storage of smaller items. Ice in the door and the wave touch control make use a breeze. Freezer drawer spacious and glides like a breeze. It's really a stunning fridge inside and out and I couldn't be more pleased. I researched so many refrigerators and brands, narrowed it down to two and when comparing side by side, there was really no comparison. There is luxury in the clean, bright simplicity of this machine where others upgrades made no sense. Don't buy! bought this refrigerator two years ago from Colders. We've had nothing but issues. Good luck trying to find a company that can actually repair it. I have been without a refrigerator for over a month. Still no resolution.

Very happy with this fridge (although only had it 1 month). We picked no water/ice on outside as that seems to be a problem area but great ice in our freezer. Love the glass shelves as they run flat across and are rather deep compared to other fridges. Love the deli/snack draw and the door fits 2 gallons of milk. Lighting is bright. Freezer is 2 draw and fits a lot, draws open and close smoothly. The veggie/fruit draws are a good grade and slide nicely. All of the above you are paying more for but worth it compared to other fridges we looked at. One problem is the fridge has a slight high pitch sound that we can't tell if it is the compressor when it runs or our cooper water line vibration on the back of fridge. Hoping it gets muffled when the top cabinets are in.
