Bought this machine Sep 2022 but didnt use it until Jan 2023. Only 2-3 regular loads each month but at end of April the gasket was worn out and broke on 4 sections which created left many grey rubber/plastic tiny pieces all over the inside machine and on my laundry. I had to vacuum all those rubber/plastic pieces out. The LG service guy was nice however the way to firm a gasket looks questionable. Also it shows how bad quality LGs paintings on their machines. Its effortless to leave scratches on LGs white painting surface. A very unpleasant disappointed experience especially due to a such short using time.

Our 13 year old Bosch finally gave up life. Needed a quick replacement and read where LG makes a good front load washer. Bought this model and began using it right away. Very smooth in my opinion and on the high spin cycle seems to be smoother than the Bosch was..even when it was newer. No issues.

HIGHLY DANGEROUS Families BEWARE of this faulty

I purchased my washing machine 2 1/2 years ago. I was thankful for a good system for my family. However last night around 11pm my whole house woke up to a loud shatter of glass. After searching I found glass up front of my washing machine and glass inside on a few clothes for the next days wash. OUT OF NOWHERE NO REASON WHATSOEVER. I take proper care of my appliances and didnt deserve this outcome. I called LG but they only cover one year and suggested a door replacement. What about the glass inside? That will only damage the machine more how is this my fault and not covered. Clearly there is a defect in this product. Im thankful this did not happen with my children nearby because I that is unacceptable and LG takes no accountability. I am appalled at this company and how they care for their customers.

Love it for using less water

Pleased overall 5/22/2023

Bought the washer and matching dryer about 2 months ago. Seen a reduction in our water bill so thats great Clothes are cleaner I believe than with my old machine. Called customer service once regarding a setting issue and it was resolved quickly by the agent. Wasnt even on hold long so thats a bonus The only thing is I wish the wash settings werent quite so long. An hour+ to wash a load of laundry seems excessive. And yes I know I can use the speed wash and I do frequently. I also wish the instruction manual covered more information. I know this likely wont change but the answer to my question wasnt on the website or in the manual. Other than these two small things the machines are performing well and I hope to have them for a long time Thank you LG

I have come to learn that the price on this unit fluctuates. I bought this unit 2 weeks ago and yesterday saw a 50$ decrease in price. I asked for a price match and was informed that in FAQ they inform you that they dont price match. I would recommend if you are going to buy this get it from a box store.

Our washer has a defect in that after a complete wash and spin cycle is finished water will very slowly drain back in to the tub. We have contacted both Home Depot and LG Electronics. So far we have not gotten any repair or replacement. We understood there was a 1-year manufacturers warrantee and we purchased a 3-year protection plan. We NEED a certified LG technician/plumber to evaluate and repair the problem. We finished our last load about a day and a half ago and now there has accumulated about a pint of water in the wash tub.

Brand new smells like mildew before even using

My new washer was installed about a month ago. After the installers left I opened the washer door and was struck with a strong mildew smell. The customer service representative suggested I had 48 hours to have the washer replaced- I couldnt bear to go through a removal and reinstall. She suggested I buy washing machine cleaning product at the grocery store and run a tub clean cycle. I have now run 3 bleach loads and 2 tub clean cycles with an Oxiclean product. I carefully dry the rubber gasket and door and drum after each use and leave the door and dispenser wide open. The mildew smell is less but still noticeable. My salesman said it was brand new out of the box and water may have been left in it after it was factory tested for leaks. This has been so frustrating

Ive been very happy with its use and function. my clothes always come out smelling fresh and clean and i really like the little jingle at the end to signify your clothes are finished washing. the only problem i had so far was then the door lock jammed up but LG were very helpful and sent out a technician within a few days and it was solved. My wife and I was surprised when we loaded and started the washer for the first time after it balanced the load it displayed a 2hr wash cycle timer we both said dam and laughed at the same time about how long it was going to wash. Overall its a great washer.

I wanted the 5.0 cu. ft. model which was not available. This one WM3470 will have to do. Ive been told to get an extended warranty as the support system for the drum is plastic and will wear out quickly appliance guy who took the old ones. Designed obsolescence. Hopefully I will get lucky but am looking for a good warranty. The one Home Depot is selling does more for them than it would for me.

We desperately needed a new washing machine but I didnt want to shop around a variety of brands. We knew LG were highly rated products and since we love our LG television so much we decided to go for the best brand out there. The machine is quiet and efficient so what more could one want? Favorite feature: large capacity with advantage of equally great cleaning. Spin cycles are effective and greatly reduce drying time needs. Super Happy with New Washer

Ive been using my WM3400CW LG washer for the past year after thoroughly researching machines for my 2-person household. I was looking for environmental impact price ease of use and effectivity. I have been very pleased in all areas. Our water use has cut down with this model it efficiently removes dirt with swift cycles and less detergent than we used to use motor sound is fairly minimal--I hear it only as background noise from behind two closed doors there arent any unnecessary bells and whistles and it was very well priced. Added bonus: my partner loves the sweet chime sound that indicates a finished cycle. As mentioned in several reviews and true for most front-loaders its necessary to leave both the detergent drawer and loading door open after use to avoid mildew smells. I wipe down the door and usually leave it barely cracked open. I remove the detergent tray and store it upsidedown on a towel between uses. We havent had to drain the machine as often as suggested. Its an easy process we just havent found much excess water stored inside. Load capacity overall is excellent more than enough space for 2 adults. Great spin cycle even when washing sleeping bags or blankets. Thumbs up

Default temperatures

I noticed several post regarding default temps. If you look under Support Help Library click on the washer pictures and them Standard Cycles it lists all the different cycles and the related water temperatures. Mine is being installed today so dont know how accurate this is but its a start.
